The greenhouse industry in Rogaland wanted to recycle plastic from seed pots.
Today, used seed pots are sent for incineration (energy recovery).
With assistance from Ryfylke Næringshage, the Future Materials catapult center connects several local players who can together develop a calculation-based.
IVAR accepts used seed pots and converts them into plastic granules for the production of new products. Bryne Plast receives the plastic granules and uses this as raw material for a new product, Pipe Clamp System (PCS), for securing pipes during transport.
Norner will test and analyze the plastic granules from IVAR and possibly make proposals for changes in design ac PCS, or additives in plastic raw materials, to achieve the desired quality
