Materials

Future Materials has through our partners Elkem, ReSiTec and UiA extensive expertise in minerals and metals, and a broad equipment portfolio from laboratory and pilot scale to industrial scale.

In addition to the equipment mentioned in the overview, Future Materials has partners with complementary equipment nationally and internationally.

Feel free to contact us if you don't fint the equipment you need in the overview!

Crushing, grinding and classification

Future Materials has crushing, grinding and classification equipment for various particle sizes ranging from cm to µm at its disposal. After the crushing and grinding process is complete the sample could go through equipment to split the material into the desired particle sizes and fractions.

Chemical analysis

Chemical analysis is the study of materials and products chemical composition. Most chemical analysis methods use advanced equipment and instruments to determine via calibration the concentration of a substance in a sample.

Pyrometallurgy

Pyrometallurgy is a type of extractive metallurgy where the chemical metallurgy cover the extraction of metals from ore and further into refining processes. The physical metallurgy cover the metals physical and mechanical properties as well as the effect of alloy, heat treatment and material design

Materials characterization

Materials characterization provides valuable information about a materials macro and micro structure. The use of microscopy, both optical and electron microscopy, allow us to obtain information about material failure, mapping and quantification of particles, phases and structures. The results from performing a material characterization technique on a sample could uncover defects and problems in a material.

Hydrometallurgy

Hydrometallurgy is the skill and knowledge of the extraction of metals via leaching of raw materials, concentrates or intermediates dissvolved in water. The next step is the precipitation process examplified by electrolysis in an aqueous solution.
