Plastic and Composite

Our partner Norner is a global market leader in plastic and composite materials.

With the green shift, higher demands will be made both from authorities and consumers for the use of recycled material. Until now, only recycled raw material from the major suppliers in the EU has been known in the market, and there has thus been little demand for Norwegian recycled plastic raw materials. This leads to Norwegian plastic waste being exported out of the country, burned, or recycled in Norway and then exported.

When Norwegian plastic producers buy recycled raw material from the EU instead of from local, Norwegian suppliers, it has negative environmental consequences both as a result of an unnecessarily high CO2 footprint from transport, and the use of "black" energy when recycling materials abroad.

We see that increased material knowledge among manufacturers, combined with third-party material testing of raw materials and products, leads to Norwegian manufacturers replacing imported material with Norwegian, short-travel, recycled raw material, recovered with green energy.
